What to Expect
Tesla is hiring Process Engineering Technician at Gigafactory New York in Buffalo.
Schedule (one opening per each shift below):
A Shift | 7AM-7PM, every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday
B Shift | 7AM-7PM, every other Wednesday and every Thursday, Friday, Saturday
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities
- Disposition of all non-conforming materials that are produced by the manufacturing line.
- Day to day coverage of production line process, including rapid response on out-of-control processes to minimize cost and maximize productivity.
- Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve process Cpk and product yield.
- Maintain and help develop up-to-date manufacturing instructions.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
- Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure maintenance instructions and schedules are always available and current.
- Summarize and analyze yield and process data.
- Manage small projects involving multiple departments and/or outside contractors.
- Manage workload with positive attitude and proactively help co-workers.
Site-specific responsibilities at GFNY
- Day-to-day sustaining MES/MI synchronicity
- Support and monitor engineering trials
- Weekend coverage of any process-related issues that may occur
- Managing MN creation/expiry/approvals
- Provide direct support to process engineers on continuous improvement projects
Tesla Job Requirements
- Bachelors or Associate Degree in science or technology related field or equivalent in direct experience strongly preferred.
- Experience within quality systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment is a plus
- Evidence of exceptional ability.
- Ability to use technological tools and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data (Tableau)
- Experience with extensive problem-solving and root cause analysis
- Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
- Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, Visio, Access, etc.)
