Job Description
Desired Competencies (Must Have Skills)
- Ability to Design and maintain Microfocus Arcsight SIEM workflow infrastructure
- Should be able to Lead/Participate in system/security policy and standards development, including writing and maintaining guidelines, standards, procedures, and other technical documentation as needed
- Ability to illustrate and explain use cases for implementation of SIEM alarms, Watchlists, reporting and correlations of data from and covering multiple data sources.
Good-to-Have:
- Strong knowledge of networking and common network protocols, services, server roles and ability to work within registry, group policy, etc.
- Understanding of network architecture and implementation
- Understanding of network and endpoint security tools and how they integrate into the SIEM and provide a cohesive view of network incidents and security
- Experience with advanced cyber security tools, network topologies, intrusion detection and secured networks
- Experience working in a multi-vendor environment.
- Good Understanding of Risk Management Framework.
- Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
- Identify, Design and configure use cases/rules that address specific enterprise needs
- Design and implement the system logic to detect security threats
- Provide Tier3 support to SOC Analyst and respond to security incidents and events
- Create/tune signatures and SIEM correlation rules to optimize intrusion analysis efforts
- Provide system architecture design and planning for new SIEM/Log Management deployments in both hosted and cloud environments
- Periodically review and conduct data validation on all Analyst device lists in the SIEM tool to ensure consistency (after each device/list mapping, and monthly verification)
- Evaluate existing SIEM standard content and use cases and adapt them to meet enterprise goals
- Develop and test new monitoring tools using SIEM active channels, dashboards, reports, and trends.
- Monitor and maintain overall system health of the SIEM
